KitKat® Roll-out Sugar Cookies

In light of the recent KitKat heist… we made cookies. These KitKat® Roll-Out Sugar Cookies are what happens when a classic cut-out cookie gets a chocolatey upgrade. Soft, buttery, and packed with crispy KitKat crunch, this dough rolls out like a dream and bakes with clean edges: perfect for decorating or sneaking straight off the tray.

KitKat® Roll-Out Sugar Cookies
Yields 12 cookies
Ingredients
1 C Unsalted Butter
3/4 C Sugar
1/4 C Brown Sugar
1 Large egg
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
3 C Flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
3/4 C Chopped KitKat® candies
Directions
Cream the butter and sugars until light & fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla. Mix until combined.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Gently fold in chopped KitKat.
Roll out dough and refrigerate for 1-2 hrs.
Preheat oven to 375°F
Cut out in desired shapes and bake for 10-12 minutes
For royal icing: add 1-2 tsp vanilla extract to your icing.
