Red Velvet Roll-out Sugar Cookie

These Red Velvet Sugar Cookies are a festive twist on a classic sugar cookie cut-out. They are soft, rich, chocolatey, and full of flavor. They are the perfect cookie for Valentine's Dat sets or any themed design.

Red Velvet Roll-out Sugar Cookies


Yields 12 Cookies

1 C Unsalted butter

1 C Sugar

1 Large egg

2 oz Cream cheese

1 tsp. Vanilla

3 C Flour

1/4 C Unsweetened cocoa

3/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. Baking powder

3/4-1 C Mini white chocolate chips

2-3 drops red food coloring (optional)


Cream the butter and sugar. Add egg, cream cheese and emulsions. Add dry ingredients. Roll out dough and refrigerate for 1-2 hrs. Cut out in desired shapes and bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes.


For royal icing: Add Cream Cheese Emulsion while mixing your icing.
